| Once master coils are rolled, annealed and temper rolled,
they can be slit to a narrower width or cut lengthwise into sheets. Slitting
involves passing the coiled strip through a set of rotating knives that
continuously shear the wide coil to the exact width required in narrower coils.
Wide or slit coils can also be "sheeted" or cut to a specified length on a
shear line, then stacked flat on skids. |
